  • Adria Arjona is being walked down the aisle by Andy Garcia in the remake of Father of the Bride. The Puerto Rican actress will play the character Elizabeth Taylor played in the original 1950 film and Kimberly Williams-Paisley played in the 1991 remake starring Steve Martin.   • Anya Taylor-Joy’s Mad Max: Fury Road prequel Furiosa, which is being directed by George Miller, landed some major financial incentives from the Australian government to ensure it would be filmed in the Land Down Under. The film is scheduled for release in June 2023. [Variety]
  • Edgar Ramirez will star in a new Netflix drama series called Florida Man. Ramirez will play an ex-cop who is sent back to his hometown to find a mobster’s girlfriend who has run away. [The Hollywood Reporter]
  • Andy Garcia is making a splash on his new TV series Rebel opposite Katey Sagal, and his daughter Daniella Garcia is along for the ride. Daniella auditioned for a role on the show and was cast. She plays the part of Maddie, a character her father describes as “struggling.” [The Hollywood Reporter]
  • Laurie Hernandez, who won a gold medal for the United States as a gymnast at the 2016 Olympics in Rio, will be featured in a Peacock docuseries called Golden. The show follows a group of women gymnasts vying for a spot on the roster for the Tokyo Olympics this summer. [Deadline]
  • Aimee Garcia, a star on TV’s Lucifer, has landed a screenwriting gig alongside former pro wrestler and best-selling author AJ Mendez. The two will write the script for the samurai warrior sequel to 47 Ronin, which was a 2013 action flick starring Keanu Reeves. [Cinema Blend]
  • John Gabriel Rodriguez is joining the cast of the Fantasy Island reboot on Fox. Rodriguez will play a character named Javier, who is the head of transportation on the island. [Variety]
