Filmmaker Zack Snyder (Dawn of the Dead) and actor Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) debuted the full trailer of Snyder’s new zombie heist movie Army of the Dead on Tuesday morning (April 13).

Before releasing the trailer, Snyder described it as the most “ass-kicking action I’ve ever been around.” Bautista called Mexican co-star Ana de la Reguera (Nacho Libre), who stars as the character Cruz in the film, a “badass.”

Army of the Dead is set in a post-apocalyptic world where zombies have taken over. De la Reguera stars as Cruz, a mechanic who Bautista’s character Scott Ward recruits to break into a vault filled with $200 million that is underneath a casino on the Las Vegas strip.

Bautista says Cruz and Scott have a “sexual tension” between them, which could mean they’ve been in a relationship before but don’t talk about it. Snyder describes Castillo’s character, Mikey Guzmán, as a “zombie killer.”

De la Reguera lives up to Bautista’s “badass” description during the full trailer for the film when she joins her team of mercenaries to pull off the big heist. As they get ready for the mission, Kenny Roger’s song “The Gambler” plays along.

“What if just once, we did something just for us,” Scott asks Cruz.

With a “32-hour window” to get the cash, the motley crew are blocked from their destination by what looks like thousands of zombies waiting to feast on their brains. These zombies, however, are “smarter, faster and organized.”

If that’s not scary enough, Snyder decides to up the ante by throwing a zombie tiger into the mix to give de la Reguera and Castillo something to use as target practice. During the trailer launch, the director reveals that the zombie tiger’s name is Valentine. Maybe that just means to kill it, you have to shoot it in the heart.

Army of the Dead premieres limited theaters May 14 and on Netflix May 21.
