Another ‘Love Is Blind’ Couple Has Called It Quits

One of Love is Blind’s remaining couples is calling it quits. Lydia Gonzalez, who appeared on Season 5 of the show and went on to marry Milton Johnson during the reality dating show, announced that she’d filed for divorce after almost three years of marriage. Lydia made the announcement on social media and also posted a clip from her appearance on the podcast of another Love Is Blind alumna, Amber Desiree Smith aka AD.
In the clip, Lydia says, “I’ve been quiet for too long, not necessarily because I didn’t have anything to speak of, more because I wasn’t ready for other people’s opinions and judgment. And now I’m ready and I have decided that I filed divorce against Milton. I suffered so long in silence that my healing is going to be loud and profound.”
Lydia also made a post to Milton, accompanied with a video montage of the two of them. That post read, “Our beginning was truly magical, it was a love story that you read in books, and it felt like a fantasy, a fairytale. As I write this, people aren’t aware that I asked to go our separate ways, not because I don’t love you but because our love story has come to an end.”
She also added that “the part that hurts most is the part that saw the potential of what could be, but your last words to me spin around at night taking over my sleep and spirit.” During What’s the Reality, Lydia revealed that his last words were calling her “too f*cking stupid” and “you’re an untrustworthy person.” She also recounted controlling behaviour from Milton as to how she dressed, his dismissal of her fibromyalgia diagnosis, and how she was allegedly receiving messages from other women that alleged Milton was flirting with them.
Lydia and Milton were the only couple to get married in Season 5 of Love is Blind. The show has aired eight seasons so far, with the premise of bringing people together to date in pods. These people must then propose before they can see each other, and from then on they have just weeks to decide if they actually want to get married.
