From Deadline: “While details behind Ramos’ role are unknown, sources say it will be similar to how Jonathan Majors was introduced as Kang the Conquer in Loki, where he is expected to not only have a big role in this series but in future Marvel projects as well.”
Although Ramos’ role is still a mystery, some details have been released about the six-episode series, which is currently in development. Ironheart will star Dominique Thorne (Judas and the Black Messiah) as Riri Williams, an engineering student and inventor, who designs a suit of armor comparable to Iron Man’s high-tech ensemble.
The character of Ironheart was first introduced to Marvel audiences in 2016. Created by Brian Michael Bendis and designed by Mike Deodato, she was also featured in the animated specials Marvel Rising: Heart of Iron and Marvel’s Spider-Man. Before Ironheart debuts on Disney+, Throne will make her screen debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which hits theaters this November.
In 2021, Ramos starred in the critically acclaimed musical In the Heights. He earned a Golden Globe nomination for the role. He also starred in the reprisal of the HBO dramatic series In Treatment and the Starz series Blindspotting.
This year, Anthony Ramos will star in the sci-fi dramedy Distant about an asteroid miner who must survive on an alien planet. He’s also lent his voice to an animated piranha for The Bad Guys.
