The Love is Blind Reunion was released October 15th by Netflix, giving fans a definitive answer on the question of whether Love is Blind’s Lydia and Milton were still together. And the answer is a resounding yes for the only couple to tie the knot in Season 5.
Love is Blind Season 5 saw geologist Lydia Velez Gonzalez and engineer James Milton Johnson IV form a connection and get engaged without ever seeing each other, and then get married in a little under a month. And now – almost a year and a half later, as the show was filmed in May of 2022, it’s been confirmed that the two are still happily married. Not only that, the couple revealed during the reunion that they held another wedding ceremony, in Lydia’s native Puerto Rico.
The ship-worthy moments didn’t stop there. Love is Blind’s hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey presented the couple with a wedding present – a rock (agathe and amethyst), of course, and showed fans a literal fanvid of their time together. They also brought up the Uche question – even if the man himself didn’t show up to own the toxicity he’d instigated – prompting Milton to praise his wife by saying: “My wife is a fantastic woman. She motivates me to be better every day.”
As for the rest, Milton confirmed that his family is all team Lydia now, while Lydia shared that the best thing about being married was “having someone who has your back regardless,” telling Nick and Vanessa that “it’s the best feeling ever.”
For fans of Love is Blind, it certainly is the best feeling ever to see that the show can result in happy endings. It’s also pretty great to see someone who represents all that our communities are so beautifully like Lydia – someone who has, at times, been reduced to a stereotype this season – get the happy ending she deserves.
