Bad Bunny will show off his comedic chops when he hosts Saturday Night Live for the first time on October 21 alongside musical guest… Bad Bunny.

Yes, that’s right. Benito will pull double duty when SNL returns for its 49th season. This is the first episode back on the air since the Writers Guild of America (WGA) went on strike. The long-running comedy show was given a blessing to start production again by SAG-AFTRA, which is still striking.

“Our members appearing on Saturday Night Live either as hosts, guests, or cast members are working under the Network Code agreement, which is not a contract we are striking,” the union said in a statement. “They are not in violation of SAG-AFTRA strike rules, and we support them in fulfilling their contractual obligations.”

The last time Bad Bunny graced the SNL stage was in February 2021, when he was the music guest for actor Regé-Jean Page (Bridgerton). Ice Spice was also included in today’s announcement as the musical guest for October 14 with host and former SNL cast member Pete Davidson.

Now that the writers are back to what they know best, we’re sure comedy scribes will come up with some sketches highlighting Benito’s other talents. Can we anticipate a lucha libre skit? How about something that pokes fun at his relationship with Kendall Jenner?

Whatever writers come up with, we’re sure Bad Bunny fans will be glued to the screen to see the entire episode.
