Did You Catch This Bad Bunny Reference in the Love Island USA Season 7 Finale?

Amaya and Bryan in Love Island USA Season 7

Peacock

Love Island USA Season 7 was an epic season full of drama, bombshell reveals, and viral trends that made it far outside of the Villa. After last night’s (July 13) season finale that crowned the Latine couple, Amaya Espinal and Bryan Arenales, as winners, viewers caught on to a subtle pop culture reference featuring Bad Bunny.

During the final ceremony, Bryan and Amaya stepped up to the center stage for a final chance to profess their love to one another. In a teary confessional Bryan begins his speech referencing the importance of providing a safe space for Amaya, defending her through the drama and eventually finding that she too, was his safe space. He ends his emotional testimony with “Mi diabla, mi alma, mi loquita.”

The spanish quote is a reference from Bad Bunny’s song “BAILE INoLVIDABLE,” with a small switchup from the lyric, instead of “mi angel” Bryan says “mi alma.”

Viewers were quick to spot the cultural reference, which made an already fan favorite cast member into a national Love Island USA hero.TikTokers shared their enthusiasm, superimposing the song with a video of them silent-screaming with joy.
