Betty la Fea, La Historia Continúa is coming back for a second season. On July 29, Prime Video announced the series renewal after breaking the record for the largest global viewership for a Latin American title in the streamers history.

The series stars the OG telenovela actors Ana María Orozco as Betty, and Jorge Enrique Abello as Armando.

“The phenomenal success of Betty la fea, La Historia Continua underscores Prime Video’s commitment to sharing iconic local stories of exceptional quality from the region that deeply resonate with our customers around the world,” Paulo Koelle, Head of Prime Video Latin America, reportedly said. “Prime Video’s strategy in Latin America has been to focus on what truly matters, taking calculated risks to bring our customers all the content they crave in one destination, and we can’t wait to bring Betty back for another season.”

Fans are thrilled about the renewal. An Instagram user, karitorzaking, commented in Spanish: We want the 300 episodes like the beginning of the novela pleaaaaaaaaaaaase🔥 this waiting is making me desperate 😭😂 @primevideo.” Another Instagram user, greece_0130, echoed the same sentiment: “We need a third and fourth season at least. ❤️.”

The first season of Betty la Fea, the Story Continues started where the original Colombian telenovela ended. After the two protagonists get married in the last episode, they run their business and welcome their newborn daughter. The new series navigates how Betty rebuilds her relationship with her now teenage daughter, and her relationship with Armando.

Betty la Fea, La Historia Continúa is currently streaming on Prime Video. New episodes are available on Thursdays.
