Yo Soy Betty, La Fea is coming back to TV in 2024, and the return of the iconic telenovela, which originally ran from 1999 to 2001 just managed to pull off a brilliant promotional stunt at Paris Fashion Week. The stunt came in the way of a collection that was said to be from designer Hugo Lombardi, one of the characters from the show.

Actor Julián Arango, who played Lombardi in the telenovela, was present on the runway. Also present were actresses Natalia Ramírez and Lorna Cepeda, who played Marcela and Patricia in Yo Soy Betty, La Fea, two big antagonists of Betty in the telenovela.

The pieces in the collection presented during Paris Fashion Week were from the real Colombian designer Andrés Otálora.

Ana María Orozco and Jorge Enrique Abello are set to return to play the iconic characters of Beatriz “Betty” Aurora Pinzón Solano and Armondo Mendoza Sáenz in what is being billed as the third season of Yo Soy Betty, La Fea. There is no set date, though the telenovela is set to premiere worldwide in over 240 countries on Prime Video in 2024. It will pick up twenty years after we last saw these characters, with Betty and Armando married and raising a family.

Betty will now have to deal with the problems of raising a teenage daughter and dealing with new economic trouble for the company.

The reaction to the stunt from the Yo Soy Betty, La Fea fans proves that there’s still very much an audience for the telenovela, even all these years later. Not for nothing, it spawned an English-language remake, Ugly Betty, whose star, America Ferrera is now an Oscar-nominated actress.

Some compared it to the promotion for Zoolander.

Others were just really happy to see it.

It’s like time hasn’t passed. Everyone still loves Betty La Fea.
