Grey’s Anatomy is adding two new POC cast members as part of their recurring cast for a limited time. Bianca A. Santos and Cedric Sanders are joining the long-running Shondaland show for the 18th season. The two newcomers will play a married couple facing a dire medical situation, like most everyone who walks through the doors of Grey Sloan Memorial.

Santos is playing Kristen Clark, wife to Sanders’s Simon Clark. According to Variety, Santos plays a pregnant wife who tries to remain stress-free for the baby’s health while watching her extremely ill husband suffer in silence.

Grey’s Anatomy fans will first see the Clarks appear on the show on May 12 in the episode titled “I’ll Cover You.” Doctors of the hospital will be working to help Simon overcome the long battle with a serious illness that he has been living with, according to the logline. The Clark family storyline will run for three episodes in the 18th season of Grey’s Anatomy.

The show, one of the longest-running in history, has already been approved for a 19th season. Grey’s Anatomy is still one of the most popular network television shows and doesn’t seem to be letting up any time soon.

Bianca A. Santos’s acting career has been slowly growing as she has landed bigger roles. You can see her in ABC/Freeform’s The Fosters, MTV’s Happyland, and CW’s Legacies. She is also going to be starring in the upcoming film Stronghold where she plays a woman surviving in a post-apocalyptic world.
