Stand-up comedian and actor Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias has lent his voice to a handful of animated animal characters over the years–from a hungry groundhog in The Nut Job to a stinky guard dog in The Star to a thieving hedgehog in Ferdinand. Now, the Mexican American funny man will mix it up with real-life animals in Unleashed, a new reality-show talent competition for pets.

As host of the series on Nickelodeon, Iglesias, whose nickname sounds like it belongs to a Pomeranian, will introduce audiences to a variety of different species who have diverse talents. For example, have you ever seen a horse play soccer? How about a cheerleading goat?

“We have a squirrel that can water ski,” Iglesias said in a statement. “Enough said!”
Each episode will spotlight three animal acts. A panel of celebrity judges and kids will chime in on who they think was the “Most Entertaining Pet” of the evening. Celebrity judges include Peyton List (TV’s Cobra Kai), Preacher Lawson (TV’s America’s Got Talent) and Utkarsh Ambudkar (Brittany Runs a Marathon).

The show sounds like an updated version of the long-running “Stupid Pet Tricks” segment on Late Show with David Letterman. Anyone remember that Yorkshire Terrier back in 2014 who could say the name Obama? The only question remaining is whether Iglesias’ and team have found a Beagle that can bark Biden.

Unleashed debuts on Nickelodeon October 22 at 7 p.m. EST.
