The new trailer for Ambulance starring Eiza González, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Jake Gyllenhaal just dropped and we’re excited for what’s to come in this action-packed film about family, brotherhood, and survival.

The premise of the movie seems simple at first. Gyllenhaal and Abdul-Mateen II’s characters are in need of money to pay for a much-needed surgery. The solution?  Rob a bank. Things don’t go as planned when they take some hostages, shoot a cop, and steal an ambulance in order to make a quick getaway. Things get even more complicated when there’s an EMT on board treating a cop who was shot in the robbery.

González is the EMT caught in the middle of all this and she is a force to be reckoned with and someone that Abdul-Mateen II and Gyllenhaal are going to have a difficult time controlling because of how determined and brave she is. And with Michael Bay directing, there’s certainly going to be action. Not only is González hanging out of a moving ambulance, but she also fights inside one all while trying to save an injured cop in the trailer for Ambulance

This isn’t the first time González has filmed a movie inside a vehicle. Many will remember her from her breakout role in Baby Driver that had her as a bank-robbing baddie opposite Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx, and Ansel Elgort. This time around in Ambulance, she is on the other side of right and wrong.

“I’m gonna get everyone back home,” says Gyllenhaal at the end of the trailer. Whether he does or does not, and whether that includes González we will have to wait and see. But we certainly hope that González makes it out and changes the course of these characters’ lives forever when the movie drops on February 18, 2022.

In the meantime González is filming the biopic on Maria Félix who is known as the Mexican Queen of Cinema.
