Society of the Snow’s Enzo Vogrincic is looking towards the future. The actor, who recently won both the Platino Award for Best Male Performance and the Audience Award in the same category for his performance in the movie, spoke to Remezcla on the red carpet for the awards about a possible move to Hollywood.
“That is a challenge, really. I would have to learn…I’m learning English. That is the great obstacle and the great barrier. If one learns it, and I will learn it, then I can start thinking about it,” he shared in Spanish, adding that meanwhile, he’s just focusing on enjoying the moment and the experience he’s had with Society of the Snow.
Vogrincic also shared that as he looks for another project, he’s trying not to set unrealistic expectations, because he understands that the movie he debuted on was the kind of project that comes across once in a lifetime.
“I understand that the movie I was in is something that does not exist in reality and it will be very difficult to find another movie that has as much heart, as much story as this one. It’s impossible. I’ve let that go. What I enjoy is what I always enjoy, which is acting. If there is a character that I like I will do it.”
The actor, whom director Juan Antonio Bayona himself thanked on X, formerly Twitter, for his work as Numa Turcatti, the narrator of Society of the Snow (La Sociedad de la Nieve), seemed particularly touched by the movie’s reception from fans around the world. The Platino Awards are the last big awards of the season, and Society of the Snow walked away with most of the year’s major awards.
Society of the Snow (La Sociedad de la Nieve) tells the real-life story of the crash of the Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 in the Andes in 1972.
