This week, we finally got a first look at Jennifer Kaytin Robinson’s Do Revenge starring Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke. The two play Drea and Eleanor, who team up to go after each other’s tormentors. Honestly, what’s scarier than teenage girls?

Mendes is best known for her role as Veronica Lodge on The CW’s Riverdale, while Hawke is beloved for her role as Robin Buckley on Netflix’s Stranger Things, which just released its fourth season. You can already see the chemistry simply from the film stills — and honestly, we couldn’t think of a more iconic team-up.

The rest of the talented cast consists of Austin Abrams (Euphoria), Rish Shah (Ms. Marvel), Talia Ryder (West Side Story), Ava Capri (Love, Victor), Jonathan Daviss (Outer Banks), Maia Reficco, Paris Berelc (Alexa & Katie), Alisha Boe (13 Reasons Why), and Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones).

Many are also excited to see Reficco in the dark comedy, who is also starring in HBO Max’s Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin — in which she will be the first Latina “liar.”

Fans of Mendes took the chance to express how proud they are of the actress and all she has been doing lately in her career, including becoming the new Creative Director and Partner at Loops Beauty, which was also announced this week.

Robinson spoke with ELLE about the film and expressed how impressed she was with Mendes, saying, “I will say, in Camila’s tape, I paused it at about maybe five seconds in, picked up the phone and called Peter Cron and [producer] Anthony Bregman and said, ‘We have Drea.’ It’s Camila.”

The writer and director continued by adding, “I literally didn’t even finish. I watched her say, like, four lines, and I was like, ‘And that’s it.’ And I started crying.”

Do Revenge premieres on September 16 on Netflix!
