Reviving TV shows from the 1980s isn’t a new thing in Hollywood–from The Conners to Fuller House to One Day at a Time, but with a lead character as spunky as Punky Brewster coming back to the small screen, things have the potential of getting very interesting.

In the upcoming series, which originally ran for four seasons from 1984 to 1988, actress Soleil Moon Frye returns to play the titular character 30 years later. Now, Punky is on a new adventure as a recently divorced mother and professional photographer.

From the sitcom’s first trailer, it looks like Punky’s ex-husband Travis, played by Puerto Rican actor Freddie Prinze Jr. (She’s All That), is still in the picture. The family becomes extended when Punky welcomes a young girl into their home who needs a place to stay (sound familiar?).

In one scene, Punky walks into her kitchen one morning and, without thinking, kisses her ex-husband who is there making pancakes for one of the kids. “Wait, what just happened?” Later, the two fist-bump each other in what seems to be a recognition that they will focus their energy on their kids and not on what happened with their relationship.

“Your mom and I are still trying to figure things out,” Prinze Jr.’s Travis says. “But we’re still a family. We just look a little different.”

Here’s to hoping the entire family has its fair share of “Punky power” to go around.

Punky Brewster premieres on Peacock Feb. 25.
