The popular FX series Pose debuted season two in June and it remains just as fabulous as season one. Jumping into the world of 1990s New York has led the characters down new paths and even more amazing fashion.

According to the network, the season two premiere was the most-watched episode in the show’s history and indicative of its continued success, FX announced the show will be returning for a season three sometime next year. Pose, created by the Bronx-born Steven Canals, Ryan Murphy and Brad Fulchuck follows a group of black and Latino, gay and trans characters as they navigate both the changing landscape of New York City and the popular world of ball culture.

The network certainly took its time announcing the arrival of season two so this greenlight seems to be validation that the show has serious longevity. Stars Indya Moore and Mj Rodriguez continue to break barriers with their performances as Angel and Blanca, respectively, as well as capably leading one of the largest trans casts in U.S. television history.

There’s no word on where season three will go, especially since season two is fairly new, but it’s great to hear FX express pride for the little show that could. Based on their promotion of the first season there was doubt that the series would cross audience demographics like it did and it’s proven the naysayers wrong. Season three already sounds like it’s prepped to continue the amazingness, as well as continue to put Billy Porter and the cast in front of us every week.
