Comedian and actor Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias has made his debut on George Lopez‘s NBC comedy Lopez vs. Lopez during its second season. Season 2 premiered on April 2, 2024, with back-to-back episodes.
Iglesias plays a character named Iggy, who is described as “George’s fun-loving, jort-wearing, oversharing AA sponsor.” When George and his daughter Mayan (Mayan Lopez) struggle with his sobriety, Iggy comes to the rescue to “offer sage advice and big warm hugs.” He sounds like the human equivalent of Frozen’s friendly, animated snowman Olaf.
After his appearance, Iglesias posted on social: “It was such an honor to finally be working along side @GeorgeLopez on #LopezVsLopez.” He also shared a photo of himself with the cast.
Last year, Iglesias was featured as Kris Kringle in the Disney+ movie, The Santa Clauses. He also appeared on the game show Barmageddon with host Blake Shelton. The last time Iglesias was featured on a TV series was when he played the lead role on the Netflix comedy, Mr. Iglesias, which ran for two seasons.
But Gabriel Iglesias isn’t the only Laitne talent joining season 2.
Another Latine who will guest star on Lopez vs. Lopez during the second season is Diana Maria Riva (Gordita Chronicles). She will play Olga, “a tough negotiator known for selling the best knock-off TVs at the local swap meet.” During her episode, she goes head-to-head with George, her rival in the world of discount electronics.
It’s likely that Iglesias and Riva won’t be the only Latine guest stars in this upcoming season. During its first season, which averaged 4.7 million viewers across all platforms, Lopez vs. Lopez welcomed several well-known and talented Latine stars, including Rita Moreno, Cheech Marin, Harvey Guillen, Justina Machado, Danny Trejo, Melissa Fumero, and Constance Marie.
Lopez vs. Lopez airs on Tuesdays on NBC.
