Academy Award nominations have given us an ample list of movies to watch before and after the big ceremony on March 2nd, especially with a solid selection of Latine nominations. But the question always arises, where can we watch them? And besides catching it in select theaters, we finally know where you can stream Colman Domingo’s Sing Sing. The film directed by Greg Kwedar will be available to stream on Max starting Friday, March 21st.

The A24 film, stars Oscar nominated actor, Colman Domingo as John Divine G Whitfield — a falsely imprisoned man who finds purpose by joining a theatre group with other incarcerated individuals. The theatre group is based on the real-life program, Rehabilitation Through the Arts (RTA) program at the maximum security prison, Sing Sing.

Domingo is joined by Clarence Maclin and other real-life, formerly incarcerated individuals. The film has received three Academy Award nominations, including Best Actor (Colman Domingo), Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Song “Like a Bird.”

In addition to being available in theaters and eventually on Max, Sing Sing is also the first movie made available to nearly 1 million incarcerated people, thanks to a partnership with Edovo Foundation.

Sing Sing will debut the film on HBO linear March 22 at 8pm ET. The film is also available for digital purchase or rental on Prime Video and Apple TV+.
