Another season of Love is Blind is a new opportunity for a cast of contestants to try their hand at finding “the one.” For season 7, the hopefuls are from Washington, D.C., with 7 couples making it out of the pods but only 6 making it to Mexico for the ensuing vacation. Out of the 6 couples, one of them is Hannah Jiles and Nick Dorka.
Hannah was torn between Leo and Nick. But after she decided to pursue her relationship with Nick, Leo was not happy. As for Nick, the real estate agent of German and Cuban descent, he was sure of Hannah, proposing to her. And after an awkward first meeting, they still decided to go forward with their relationship and see if love was truly blind.
Remezcla got a chance to interview Nick about Love is Blind season 7. We wanted to know why Nick chose Hannah out of all the other connections he had in the pods. For him, it was all about knowing what to expect when it came to being with Hannah. That’s what sealed the deal for him.
Nick said, “Every time I walked into the pod, I knew what to expect. It was that energy, you know? It was that kind of feeling that came through the wall. We picked up conversations right where we left off. We were able to laugh but also talk about some serious stuff.”
As for Hannah, who works in medical device sales and who we also had a chance to speak with, she had her own thoughts on why she picked Nick. “I think for me, Nicky was just like my comfort blanket. And so I was like, “This is my person I can talk to for hours.” So I felt like when I was in there, I just felt like I was at home.”
So far we’ve only seen 6 episodes of the seventh season. And post-pod life, Nick and Hannah are already hitting some roadblocks. This is especially true after the encounter with the tourist on the beach with the ducks and the list that Nick found in their hotel that listed some of Nick’s qualities.
Looking back now, the season already finished filming, Nick knows what he’d tell the version of himself who is just entering the pods. “I mean it sounds cliche but, talk about the hard things. Be open to those hard conversations. And just say what’s on your mind and what’s on your heart.”
As for being Latino, something that I as a viewer haven’t seen a lot of people clocking, he’s proud of his heritage. “It’s all about family. It’s all about love.” And with 6 episodes to go, we’ll get to find out soon enough if Hannah and Nick choose to tie the not and become family forever.
