Mickey Haller will be back in court for another season! It hasn’t yet been a full month since the second part of Season 2 premiered, but that didn’t stop Netflix from confirming that the courtroom drama The Lincoln Lawyer would return for a third 10-episode third season. The last five episodes of the second season premiered on August 3rd.

The show is based on The Lincoln Lawyer series by Michael Connelly. The first season of the show adapted the second book in the series, The Brass Verdict. Season 2 then focused on the fourth book in the series, The Fifth Witness. Season 3, meanwhile, is set to adapt the fifth book in the series, The Gods of Guilt. There are a total of seven books.

Mexican-American Manuel García-Rulfo is set to reprise his role as Mickey Haller, with Becki Netwon, Jazz Raycole, Angus Sampson, and Yaya DaCosta, among others, set to return as well. Showrunners for the show remain, Dailyn Rodriguez and Ted Humphrey, who shared that, The audience response to the show has been so gratifying and wonderful, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to dive back into Michael Connelly’s universe and bring Mickey Haller and his world to the screen again.”

Season 2 of the drama was a runaway success for Netflix. Since its premiere, the show has quickly climbed up the Netflix Global Top 10 with a cumulative 40 million views as of August 29th. It has also reached the Top 10 in 81 different countries.

There is, of course, no set date for Season 3, and there isn’t likely to be one until the AMPTP can reach fair deals with both the WGA and SAG-AFTRA.

This piece was written during the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Without the labor of the writers and actors currently on strike, The Lincoln Lawyer being covered here wouldn’t exist.
