No Offense to John Krasinski, But Again, Has People Magazine Seen Pedro Pascal?

Every year we ask People Magazine the same question. Have you seen some of the Latino men you aren’t picking? Last year, it was Oscar Isaac. This year it’s Pedro Pascal. Because, though John Krasinski is handsome, and would have been a fine pick five years ago, he makes very little sense as this year’s Sexiest Man Alive. What did Krasinki even do this year? What big projects does he have coming up?
Because Pascal is set to star in Gladiator II, one of the biggest movies of the year. He is also set to play Reed Richards in the upcoming Fantastic 4. He’s still got a new The Mandalorian movie on the horizon, as well as Season 2 of The Last of Us. He was on the Awards circuit winning for the HBO show, for the first time in his career. And he looked very good doing it.
If you say Pedro Pascal, people know who he is. And people also know he should have been this year’s choice for Sexiest Man Alive. We’re not the only ones who think so either. Fans online were quick to react after the announcement.
“john krasinski, really? when Pedro Pascal literally exists. smh,” one fan said.
For some, the problem is the system.
“The fact that Pedro Pascal hasn’t been dubbed the sexiest man alive by @people just lets me know the system is in fact broken.”
And others pointed out why Pascal just made sense.
“Literally Pedro Pascal is right there and in a mega movie opening in two weeks? C’mon people, get it together. (JKras is very handsome, this just feels so random? Like what Office Uber fan did this?)”
Others also brought up Glen Powell, Paul Mescal and Jonathan Bailey.
And people had been preparing for disappointment for a while, with this tweet saying “when i wake up tomorrow and i don’t see the name “jose pedro balmaceda pascal, the people magazine’s sexiest man alive 2024” count your days”
