Karol G is cementing her musical legacy. On Dec. 30, the Colombian superstar revealed her upcoming Netflix documentary. The release date is yet to be confirmed – but here’s what we know so far.
“A story born from dreams that seemed impossible, fueled by unwavering faith. A relentless journey that defied all odds,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “My life, my work, my truth and the powerful connection I share with you all. My dream came true.”
The new documentary is set to be released in 2025. Netflix describes it as, “an intimate portrait of a global music icon: the woman behind the artist,” via a press release. The press release also reveals that the documentary is directed and produced by Emmy Award winner Latina Cristina Costantini. Costantini is also behind works like Mucho Mucho Amor: The Legend of Walter Mercado, Sally, and Science Fair. As far as production goes, the feature is produced by This Machine and producers R.J. Cutler, Elise Pearlstein, and Trevor Smith, in partnership with Interscope Films and Bichota Films. Bichota Films’ Sofia Vanegas is also credited as a co-producer.
Although fans don’t know exactly what the documentary will feature, we hope to see behind-the-scenes footage of the star’s rise from competing in the Colombian version of The X Factor to being the first Latina to headline major music festivals in the U.S. and win prestigious accolades like the Grammys’ Best Música Urbana Album.

Fans are excited to see what’s in store for the documentary. An X user wrote: “i have been wondering if this was ever going to happen – because truly karol g’s talent should be seen by everyone.”
Other fans are already anticipating being emotional throughout the documentary.
We’ll keep an eye out for the documentary’s release date.
