‘Love Island USA’ Yulissa Already Has Campaign to Get Her Voted Off — Here’s Why

We’re only one episode into Love Island: USA Season 7 and already the Latina contestant Yulissa has fans rallying to get her voted off the show.
Yulissa from Miami is one of the 10 islanders introduced last night (June 3) on Peacock. She’s 27, owns a mobile bar, and just got out of a long-term relationship. And her mom was born in Cuba and her father in Missouri. None of that is controversial on the surface. But even before a show starts, fans are sleuthing to see what they can find about the islanders. And apparently Yulissa is MAGA.
Fans have allegedly unearthed photos from social media of Yulissa wearing a red “Make America Great Again” cap, which is synonymous with the Donald Trump administration. And they also allegedly found Yulissa using racial slurs during a podcast appearance.
These discoveries led to Love Island USA fans flooding Yulissa’s Instagram with comments like “Voting her off first button,” “We still voting her off idk why you keep posting her” and “America this is your chance to finally getting the voting right.” The same comments are prevalent all over X, previously known as Twitter, as well.
There are also fans questioning what kind of vetting is being done for Love Island USA that this could happen. Users like khaoticthedon said, “This girl on the internet saying the N word… loud and proud. what kind of vetting did yall do producers???” To that, people responded with comments asserting that production knew exactly what they were doing because we’re talking about it.
By the end of night one of Love Island USA Yulissa ended up with Ace after stealing him away from Chelley during the pair off portion of the show. And even that led to more backlash against Yulissa as that left Chelley with Austin, who also has accusations against him of being Maga due to his posts on TikTok, that range from supporting Trump and Project 2025.
New episodes of Love Island USA air every day on Peacock at 6pm PT/9pm ET during premiere week. New episodes will stream Thursdays through Tuesdays thereafter.
