Spoiler alert: The following article contains major plot details about the series finale of Mayans M.C., which aired on July 19.

If you’re a fan of Mayans M.C., take a deep breath. No, seriously, breathe! You’re likely still shocked over what you just witnessed during the blood-soaked series finale. If you don’t watch Mayans M.C. but still want to know all the chisme, read on.

After five seasons on FX, the series has revved its last motorcycle engine and sped off into the sunset, but not before causing some extreme emotional damage on its way out. We’re not going to delay the brutal news any longer: EZ Reyes (JD Pardo) and Miguel Galindo (Danny Pino) are dead.

Death comes for Miguel first – at the hands of his wife, Emily (Sarah Bolger). Emily shoots him in the chest with Luis’ (Michael Anthony Perez) gun after she tricks Miguel into returning to their car to get their son’s stuffed animal. When Miguel enters the house again, Emily stands with the gun pointed toward him. She shoots him twice, and during the chaos, she fires the firearm into Luis’ face after whispering to him, “I know you killed my sister.”

There were plenty of people who thought Miguel had it coming.

Others were shocked at the turn of events.

EZ’s death isn’t as quick and painless as Miguel’s. After praising his fellow Mayans for the blood and sweat they sacrificed to make their club successful, they turned around and cut him down like Jon Snow in Game of Thrones. EZ is accused of working with the Feds and is stabbed in the chest and stomach with his own knife by Bishop (Michael Irby), Hank (Frankie Loyal), Gilly (Vincent Vargas), Guero (Andrew Jacobs), and Nestor (Gino Vento). Angel (Clayton Cardenas) reluctantly stabs his brother first because Bishop is holding a gun to his head. EZ accepts that he is going to die and tells Angel that he has to stay alive for his son.

Most fans couldn’t believe they forced Angel to do what he did.

Emotions ran high for everyone during the intense scene.

It turns out the promos at the start of the season featuring death incarnate grasping at EZ’s face were foreshadowing the Mayans M.C. ending after all.

If you missed the series finale of Mayans M.C., it will begin streaming July 20 on Hulu.

This piece was written during the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Without the labor of the writers and actors currently on strike, Mayans M.C. being covered here wouldn’t exist.
