My Life With the Walter Boys is coming back for Season 2. The young adult drama, starring Latina Nikki Rodriguez is currently the number one show on Netflix’s global English top 10 TV since its December 7th debut. The show is an adaptation of the Ali Novak book of the same name.

Alongside news of the renewal, Netflix shared a TikTok video of the cast learning about said renewal. In a call with showrunner Melanie Halsall, the three main stars, Nikki Rodriguez, who plays Jackie Howard, Noah LaLonde, who plays Cole Walter, and Ashby Gendry, who plays Alex Walter, get to hear that they have been given the green light for season 2 and react accordingly.

There’s a lot of hugging, and even feeling each other’s heartbeats as the trio celebrate the renewal. Gendry even asks Halsall if people like the show, with the showrunner confirming “I think people like the show, yeah.” Numbers back up that assertion, as more than 20 million people have watched the show since its debut.

My Life With the Walter Boys follows Jackie Howard who, after losing her family to a terrible accident, has to move to rural Colorado to live with her mother’s friend Katherine. The catch? Her mother’s friend already has eight other kids, seven of those boys. There, Jackie finds herself not just adjusting to a new life and a new school, but in the middle of a love triangle between two of the Walter boys, Cole and Alex.

Season 1 ends without Jackie choosing either of them, but with Season 2 now on the cards for Netflix, it might be time for Jackie – and viewers – to truly pick a side.
