Now that Oscar Isaac has proven his staying power on the big and small screens with movies like Dune and TV series like Moon Knight, the talented actor will take on a new medium with the scripted podcast Case 63.
Isaac is teaming up with Oscar-winning actress Julianne Moore (Still Alice) for the Spotify podcast, which is an English-language adaptation of a podcast originally from Chile. According to Deadline, this is the first time a podcast series from a non-English speaking market has been adapted into multiple languages.
Case 63 tells the story of a psychiatrist named Eliza Knight (Moore) and her patient (Isaac), who claims he is a time traveler. The original podcast has also been adapted in Brazil and India. It was written by Chilean screenwriter Julio Rojas, who was inspired by the pandemic to create an end-of-the-world narrative.
This isn’t the first time Isaac has entered the podcast realm. In 2016, he starred as Walter Cruz in the 12-episode podcast Homecoming with Oscar-nominated actress Catherine Keener (Being John Malkovich) and David Schwimmer. The podcast was adapted into the 2018 Amazon Prime series of the same name starring Julia Roberts. Actor Stephan James (If Beale Street Could Talk) was cast in the role of Walter.
It’ll be a while before we see Oscar Isaac grace the screen in a new TV series or movie. His next project is a voice role in the animated sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which is scheduled to hit theaters next summer.
