Oscar Isaac’s ‘Frankenstein’ Gets First Teaser Trailer at Netflix Tudum 2025

Netflix
Netflix Tudum has finally given us our Frankenstein. Director Guillermo del Toro took the stage with Oscar Isaac and Mia Goth at Netflix Tudum 2025 to introduce us to Mary Shelley’s greatest work.
In the teaser trailer we’re introduced to Oscar Isaac’s Victor Frankenstein. He’s introducing his work to colleagues, a transformation of the body and soul. And even though we don’t get to see his creation, his monster, he haunts the narrative and is on the hunt for Victor.
The movie is a project Guillermo del Toro has been wanting to make for 50 years. “Over the decades, the character has fused with my soul in a way that it has become an autobiography. It doesn’t get more personal than this,” the director said in a video message.
He’d previously discussed how, after watching the 1931 film Frankenstein, starring Boris Karloff, he became fascinated with the character. “This monster crossing the threshold, this anomaly seemed to embody everything that I thought was ‘wrong’ with me, in a beautiful way,” Del Toro said. “It was like a patron saint being discovered for me.”
