More than two years since its announcement and six months after reshooting its pilot episode with new cast members, it looks like Mayans MC is finally happening. FX has ordered 10 episodes of the Sons of Anarchy spin-off, which will follow a motorcycle gang introduced in the original series.

The next chapter in Kurt Sutter’s series, which will air on FX, picks up after the events in Sons of Anarchy and follows EZ Reyes (JD Pardo), a new prospect fresh out of prison trying to join the Mayans Motorcycle Club.

Argentine-Salvadoran-American Pardo is set to work alongside legendary Mexican actor Edward James Olmos. Previously announced last February, Olmos will play Reyes’ father “a Mexican OG who’s trying to walk the straight and narrow.” In July it was unclear which, if any, cast members were being replaced in the wake of pilot reshoots. Though there’s still not too many details, many of the original members are still listed, including Sons of Anarchy alum Emilio Rivera, Clayton Cardenas, and Richard Cabral.

Though Sutter created Sons of Anarchy, he won’t helm Mayans MC. That job will go to Cuban showrunner Norberto Barba, who directed the pilot. Barba previously worked on Grimm, NBC’s fairy tale fantasy series. There’s currently no word on when the pilot will air.
