Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was released last June to massive acclaim as fans were excited to find out what happens next in the saga of Miles Morales. As expected, the movie didn’t disappoint and was met with massive financial and critical acclaim, with a cliffhanger ending forcing fans to wait for the epic conclusion. But the long wait won’t be endured in silence as producer Christopher Miller announced Across the Spider-Verse will be returning to IMAX for a limited time on January 19th.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse reunited the alienated hero, Miles Morales, with his close friend and crush, Gwen Stacy, an alternate-reality Spider-Woman. However, their reunion is cut short with the growing threat of his nemesis, The Spot and the introduction of the Spider-Society, led by the shady and antagonistic Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099.

Miles Morales’ story has touched countless fans in the short time his character has been in the spotlight, and much of that was thanks to the success of the Spider-Verse films. Even now, with the movie released on home video and streaming, fans aren’t wasting time in mentioning their plans to see the movie in IMAX again.

However, even though the news is exciting to many, some questions have been left unanswered, such as how long Across the Spider-Verse will be in theaters. Another important question was presented by X user Jonathan Martinez on whether or not the movie will play in other countries.

Surely, before its return to IMAX screen on January 19th, these questions and more will be answered. But for those lucky enough to catch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on the big screen again, it’ll be a chance to celebrate another animation “marvel” that has pushed boundaries and allowed an already iconic Marvel Comics hero to shine even more.
