Sundance Film Festival CDMX 2026 Reveals Lineup

The Sundance Film Festival: CDMX 2026 is coming in hot. On April 9, the nonprofit organization announced its upcoming feature film exhibits, in partnership with Cinépolis. The schedule includes 15 feature films—eight documentaries and seven fiction films. It also includes six short films. The festivities will take place from April 30 to May 3 throughout several Cinépolis locations in Mexico City.
The featured documentaries include American Pachuco: The Legend of Luis Valdez, directed by David Alvarado, a film about the Chicano theater and film figurehead Luis Valdez; The Oldest Person in the World, by Sam Green, a film about time; and Nuisance Bear, by Jack Weisman and Gabriela Osio Vanden, which explores the connection between humans and wildlife. More documentaries include Everybody to Kenmure Street by Felipe Bustos Sierra; One in a Million by Itab Azzam and Jack MacInnes; and The Last First: Winter K2 by Amir Bar-Lev.
As far as the fiction films go, highlighted work includes Chasing Summer, by Josephine Decker, a story about second opportunities; The Musical, by Giselle Bonilla, a project about ambition, ego, and rivalry; and Saccharine, by Natalie Erika James, a film about body images. Other featured fictional films include Union County by Adam Meeks; The Invite by Olivia Wilde; Undertone by Ian Tuason; and If I Go Will They Miss Me by Walter Thompson-Hernández.
Short film selections include Sorrow Doesn’t Sleep at Night by Josefina Montino and Martín André; Marga en el DF by Gabriela Ortega; Albatross by Amandine Thomas; Norheimsund by Ana A. Alpizar; Once in a Body by María Cristina Pérez; and Mentirosos by Eduardo Braun Costa.
Starting on April 10, tickets will be available for the upcoming CDMX edition, which will take place in various Cinépolis locations. These locations include Cinépolis Diana (the main venue), Cinépolis Plaza Carso, Cinépolis VIP Miyana, Cinépolis Mítikah, and Cinépolis Oasis Coyoacán.
