Karol G is bringing a Latina TV legend out of retirement. Cristina Saralegui is returning to Univision to get the inside scoop on the Colombia superstar’s new album and personal life.
Saralegui, a Cuban-American journalist, is most known for her hit talk show El Show de Cristina. In the nineties and 2000s, many Latine music icons sat down with her to promote their projects. It was like a rite of passage to get through an interview with Saralegui, who spent more time digging into the secrets and chisme surrounding that artist.
In the 20-plus years of her show, she landed interviews with acts like Selena Quintanilla, Shakira, Gloria Estefan, Gloria Trevi, Ricky Martin, Thalia, Paulina Rubio, RBD, and many others. The last episode of Saralegui’s show aired on November 1, 2010.
For one night only, El Show de Cristina is returning to Univision because of La Bichota.

To promote her latest album TROPICOQUETA, Karol G wanted to sit down and chat with Saralegui like her favorite artists did before her. According to a press release about the upcoming special, an interview with Saralegui was a “childhood dream come true” for Karol G because she grew up watching the iconic talk show. This will mark Saralegui’s return to the El Show de Cristina in 14 years.
The special “El Show de Cristina Presents Karol G” will air tonight on Univision at 7 p.m. EST. Karol G released her TROPICOQUETA album last Friday. That same day, she also put out the music video for “Papasito,” which features Latino Marvel star Danny Ramirez.
