The Lincoln Lawyer returns for the first half of Season 2 in just three weeks, and our favorite defense attorney is back on the case and looking even better than ever if the first look at the season is to be believed. The trailer for Season 2 sees Mickey Haller fresh off that big win from Season 1 and riding off its publicity. Izzy is driving him to interviews, he’s got plenty of clients, a bigger office, and things are looking good. But… well, he’s somehow still finding trouble in parking lots.
And he’s still got that complicated relationship with his first ex-wife to deal with. And the second ex-wife is now getting married to his friend Cisco, who is also his investigator. He’s also dating someone new, who just got arrested for murder, which means he is now her defense attorney. Plus, his mother, played by Mexican legend Angélica María, is around this season. All on par for the course for the chaos that is Mickey Haller’s life.
The Lincoln Lawyer‘s first season focused on García-Rulfo’s Mickey Haller, an idealist who runs his law practice out of the back seat of his Lincoln. The show is based on the series of bestselling novels by Michael Connelly. The second season is set to adapt the fourth book in the series, The Fifth Witness. There are a total of seven books.
“I think [the fame and success] has its good side and its bad side,” Garcia-Rulfo tells Tudum. “He’s got this mojo back and his confidence back and all that, but I think that success brings a lot of bad stuff as well if you don’t know how to handle it — and I think he wasn’t ready for it.”
Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer returns for Season 2 this summer, with Part 1 on July 6 and Part 2 on August 3.
