Ana de Armas was the very first guest of 2023 on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this week. During her appearance, de Armas talked about her Golden Globe nomination for playing Marilyn Monroe in the Netflix biopic Blonde. But we can’t stop thinking about what she said about filming an intense scene with John Wick himself, Keanu Reeves.

She’s currently shooting her new movie Ballerina in the Czech Republic capital city of Prague with Reeves. Ballerina is a spin-off of the John Wick film franchise, which stars Reeves in the title role as a retired hitman who gets pulled back into his old life after the death of his family.

De Armas said she has been filming on location for four months and has one more month to go. And during that time, it’s been physically challenging to take on a role like this. “I’m in pain – my body, my back, everything hurts,” de Armas said. “I’m sore. I’m bruised.”

She then explained that even though the movie has been tough, she’s been able to push through the pain because she realized that Reeves never complains about anything. (Further evidence that he truly is the internet’s boyfriend even as he does his own stunts to make things as realistic looking as possible.)

“The other day, Keanu and I are rehearsing our very difficult stunt scene and this man is just rolling and throwing me and doing these crazy stunts and I’m like, ‘I can’t complain anymore,’” de Armas explained. “He’s doing it! He truly is the best.”

Ana de Armas has some action movie experience. She performed some moves in the James Bond movie No Time to Die and kicked butt in The Gray Man. And with Reeves there, he’ll absolutely be a guiding hand in how to take on such challenging roles.

There is no official release date for Ballerina yet, but to hold everyone over until then, John Wick: Chapter 4 hits theaters on March 24, 2023.
