Bad Bunny didn’t show up to the stage alone during his debut as the host of Saturday Night Live tonight (October 21). Joining Benito was actor Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) who helped the “un x100to” singer translate some Spanish and gave him some advice on how to deliver a good opening monologue.

After Benito joked with the audience about whether he prefers English or Spanish to do things like order from McDonald’s or while he’s having sex, he also let them know that he prefers to speak in Spanish. When Bad Bunny started speaking in Spanish, the words “Speaking in Non-English” showed up as subtitles at the bottom of the screen, a throwback to the Grammy’s incident where they put those words while he was singing in Spanish.

After Bad Bunny complained about the captions, they changed to “Speaking a Sexier Language,” which seemed to make everyone in the audience happy as Benito gave a thumbs up. Still, Benito said he didn’t trust the subtitles, so he called on Pascal to come out and help him translate.

Pascal didn’t do a great job translating, however, since he translated the first thing Benito said in Spanish to “I’m blessed to be here with my favorite actor Pedro Pascal.”

Benito played along but urged Pascal to help him with his monologue. Pascal told him the best thing he could do was tell a self-deprecating joke or show an embarrassing photo of himself. Benito then revealed a pic where he’s lying down half-naked. He said the photo was embarrassing because he “forgot to put on clothes.”

Benito ended his monologue with a shout-out to his fans and family watching in Puerto Rico. “We have an amazing show for you tonight,” Benito said. “I’m here, so stick around and we’ll be right back!”

Saturday Night Live airs Saturdays at 11:30 ET with episodes available on Peacock the following day.
