George Lopez may have just announced that there will be a sequel to Blue Beetle.

This past weekend Lopez’s daughter and co-star on Lopez vs. Lopez, Mayan, posted a video on her Instagram page showing her dad meeting up with Kiss rock star Gene Simmons behind the stage at Madison Square Garden after the band’s End of the Road World Tour.

During their short conversation, Simmons can be heard asking Lopez, “Are they gonna do another Blue Beetle?” Lopez responds, “Yes.” Simmons sounded excited when he followed up with, “They are?!” Lopez, again, answers in the affirmative: “Yeah.”

Simmons seems to like what he hears and lets Lopez know, “I’m in” before patting him on the chest. Lopez says, “Alright,” claps his hands and adds, “He’s in. He’s in.”

First, we’re wondering if Lopez’s revelation counts as an unofficial confirmation that there will, in fact, be a Blue Beetle 2. Or could it be a situation where someone gets a bit too excited around a rock star and says what he knows he wants to hear?

Second, what did Simmons mean when he said, “I’m in?” Does that mean he’s excited to see the new movie? Or could it mean that there’s going to be a Kiss song included in the soundtrack for a potential new movie?

The first movie had Mötley Crüe’s “Kickstart My Heart” playing during an exciting action sequence where George Lopez flies the Bug Ship, so maybe Simmons and the rest of the band are opening having one of their medleys included in the sequel. Imagine Blue Beetle flying around and beating up villains to Kiss’ signature song, “Rock And Roll All Nite.”
