It was Latin Night during Week 2 of Dancing with the Stars, and Xochitl Gomez pulled out all the stops. On Tuesday (October 3), the Marvel actress tied for the top score of the night and had a recognizable friend in the audience cheering her on.

Gomez took the stage with her dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy to dance a salsa to Camila Cabello’s 2021 song “Don’t Go Yet.” The duo scored a 24, which was the same score Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach received for their rumba to “Quizás, Quizás, Quizás” by Andrea Bocelli and featuring Jennifer Lopez.

When the music started, Gomez stepped onto the top of a picnic table and started clapping her hands during the opening of the song. She was wearing a striped black, white, and red top, a red skirt, and white sneakers. She leaped from the table and into Chmerkovskiy’s arms.

Once her feet touched the dance floor, Gomez and Chmerkovskiy kept the energy high with a series of spins, hand movements, and footwork. As soon as the song ended, the crowd erupted in applause. One of the audience members cheering was her friend and fellow superhero actor Xolo Maridueña (Blue Beetle).

All three judges praised her talent. Carrie Ann Inaba said watching Gomez dance reminded her of “a young Rita Moreno.” Derek Hough said Gomez’s moves were “exceptional” while Bruno Tonioli dubbed the dance a “power salsa.”

Other Latine songs featured during DWTS Latin Night included “Gasolina” by Daddy Yankee, which Lele Pons danced to. They also used “Aguanilé” by Willie Colón & Héctor Lavoe and “Oye Cómo Va” by Tito Puente.
