Wednesday is allegedly getting a new love interest in season 2.

The Jenna Ortega-led show, which became the most successful English-language show of all time on Netflix after season 1, is adding a new character named Bruno. According to What’s on Netflix, he’s described as a “Hispanic/Latino teen character” with a “ smoldering look.” Not much else has been released about the character, and no casting has yet been announced.

Last year, Ortega told Variety that season 2 was “ditching any romantic love interest,” which she called great news. The season was said to be leaning into horror more. “We’re going to get bolder, more dark.” That could still be the case, even with a new love interest in play. And who’s to say that the love interest is for Wednesday Addams herself? Enid, played by Emma Myers, is also returning for season 2.

In season 1, Wednesday Addams had two main love interests, Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan) and Xavier Thorpe (Percy Hynes White), with the latter reportedly been written off the show after allegations of sexual assault surfaced. This love triangle wasn’t received well by fans. And many were excited to hear when Ortega said, “We’re ditching any romantic interest for Wednesday, which is really great.”

Season 2 of Wednesday is expected to start shooting in April 2024, with filming set to run for six months. According to Deadline, Wednesday will be moving from Romania to Ireland for season 2.

But season 2 of Wednesday isn’t all we can expect from this world, as there were reports last December that Netflix was interested in a Wednesday spinoff that would focus on Uncle Fester, played by Fred Armisen. Nothing has been set in stone for the spin-off yet, but the numbers for season 1 and the expectation for season 2 of Wednesday indicate we haven’t seen the last of the Addams family just yet.
