Users on social media have been having a field day with a viral clip of the Spanish reality show, La isla de las tentaciones. Dubbed “MONTOYA” by users online, the clip is reality TV gold— featuring drama and scandal, all within the backdrop of the sandy white beaches of the Dominican Republic.
The eighth season of La Isla de Tentaciones Is filmed in the Samaná Peninsula, which features picturesque beaches and dense palm trees, along with boutique accommodations—perfect for reality television. The contestants are separated by gender, and each group resides in a luxurious mansion. The men stay at Villa Montana, and the women stay at Villa Playa.
The mansions are near each other within the private residence of Los Nómadas, en las Terrenas, and can even be booked directly on the residential complex’s website. Prices to rent a villa or a mansion range from $300 through $2,200.
“Montoya” became a viral sensation after a scene of the reality series featured the dramatic moment that José Carlos Montoya watches his girlfriend cheat on him. Montoya becomes increasingly agitated as the infidelity unfolds in front of him, falling to his knees, gripping his shorts, and eventually running towards the scene of the crime, yelling and searching for his girlfriend.

The moment has already become a viral meme, with the “Montoya” reaction appearing on all corners of social media. On X, users have been sharing screen shots from the emotional scene or connecting it to paintings.

On Tik Tok, users are using the audio for their own rendition of the famous beach side sprint.

At this time, La isla de las Tentaciones is only available on Telecinco in Spain, however, Netflix is releasing the third season of Temptation Island on March 12th.
