Cardi B is teaming up with legendary singer Patti LaBelle to create a dessert that will have everyone crashing your holiday party.
In a preview campaign video produced to look and feel like a TV sitcom from the 1980s, Cardi B and LaBelle tease their new seasonal partnership where they’re combining their dessert brands. In late 2021, Cardi B created Whipshots, a line of vodka-infused whipped cream in a can.
LaBelle added sweet potato pies to her Patti’s Good Life brand in 2015. The pies, which sold exclusively at Walmart at the time, went viral and have since expanded to include other desserts like southern buttermilk pie, peach cobbler, and banana pudding.
“I’ve been her mother in my mind for a long time because she’s just all that and a bag of chips,” LaBelle told People of the WAP singer. “And I’m all that and a bag of chips.”
The preview features LaBelle welcoming Cardi B into her home for a holiday dinner. In her hands, Cardi B has one of LaBelle’s famous sweet potato pies and a can of her own peppermint-flavored Whipshots. Both of them seem to enjoy each other’s company as they talk, laugh, drink wine, and eat desserts.
“I feel like I’m not worthy, I just feel so shook!” Cardi told People about meeting LaBelle. “I’m super starstruck. I’m on my best behavior.”
Earlier this year, Cardi B introduced a new lime-flavored can of Whipshots. If you visit the company’s official website, they’re also selling a pumpkin spice flavor for a limited time. Other flavors are vanilla, mocha and caramel.
