Karol G fans are ready to kick off Summer 2023 with a bang. The “Bichota” singer will be honored with a pop-up shopping event that takes place in Detroit this month.
Inspired by Karol G’s fourth studio album released this past February, the Mañana Será Bonito Sip & Shop, according to Eater Detroit, “will feature more than two dozen vendors selling food, Mexican artwork, jewelry, and vintage goods.”
The pop-up shopping event is the brainchild of Cafecito Alvarez, a traveling coffee bar in Detroit known for its cafecito and handcrafted Mexican beverages. For the event, Cafecito Alvarez will whip up a special menu based on songs from the Mañana Será Bonito album, including a strawberry drink called the “Carolina” and a vanilla and pecan blend called “Mañana Será Bonito” that comes with whipped cream and sprinkles.
Combine both drinks and you’ll be ordering a “Besties,” which comes in two separate, heart-shaped cups.
Ana Alvarez, a co-owner of Cafecito Alvarez, said this was the third edition of the Karol G-inspired event. She added that this year’s pop-up was meant to empower people in their communities.
“We’re all going through it, you know, whether it’s a heartbreak that you’re going through, stressors or anything, it’s going to be alright,” Alvarez said. “When you build a good support system, it makes it 100 times better.”
The Mañana Será Bonito Sip & Shop happens on June 11, 2023, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 1323 Military in Detroit. Cafecito Alvarez was launched last year by Ana and her sisters, Alicia, Adriana, and Alondra.
