Megan Thee Stallion Officially Launches ‘Chicas Divertidas’ Tequila

Megan Thee Stallion is officially tapping into the tequila game. This week, the American rapper and songwriter launched her new beverage online, Chicas Divertidas Tequila.
Megan’s new alcoholic drink is self-described as, “a smooth and sultry highland tequila.” Earlier today (February 20), she posted a video promoting the drink with a catchy hip-hop song, singing “Where are the girls that like to have fun? Chicas.” The song also spells out “C-H-I-C-A-S,” making the earworm fun to dance and echo back. The promo also features cherries, burlesque-like dancers, shots, and the rap queen in a cocktail glass – a la Dita Von Teese.
“As someone who values good vibes and great memories, I knew I wanted to create a tequila that was smooth AF, designed to be shared and savoured with your hotties,” the rapper said as part of the official website’s story. “I created Chicas Divertidas with ALL the hotties in mind. The bottle is slender and curvaceous, inspired by the Angel’s Trumpet, a fragrant flower that’s secretly a deadly force of nature. While the heart and dagger cork is a visual reminder to all my hotties to keep it cute, classy, and cut-throat.”
Reactions to the new tequila were mixed. Some were excited.
Others were noting “not one Latina in the ad..” This comment doesn’t take into consideration that the talent within the promo can be Afro-Latina.
And others were alleging that she was promoting alcoholism with comments like, “Making the younger generation alcoholics one liquor brand at a time.” while also bringing up her supposed previous comments on drinking.
Nevertheless, the new drink comes in two types of tequila: blanco (priced at $70 USD) and reposado (priced at $80 USD). The tequila blanco is produced by Casa Centinela (NOM 1140) and comes from Jalisco, Mexico. It is described as “a pure, flavorful tequila with undertones of cooked agave and citrus.” The tequila reposado is also produced by Casa Centinela (NOM 1140) in Jalisco, Mexico. It is described as “rich and balanced with authentic flavors of caramelized agave, American oak, and cooking spices.”
