Modelo just unveiled a limited-edition holiday lager. The new flavor of beer is inspired by Noche Buena, the Christmas Eve celebration that brings nuestras familias together for food, music, and late-night abrazos. The new release, Modelo Noche Especial, is an amber lager with a toasted caramel-malt flavor and a smooth 5.7% ABV, brewed to pair with rich holiday dishes and long conversations around the table.

“Noche Buena” is more than a date on the calendar; it’s the moment when Latino households across the U.S. light up with traditions passed down for generations. Modelo says the beer’s flavor profile was designed to honor that togetherness and authenticity. As Logan Jensen, Modelo’s VP of Brand Marketing, puts it: “The Modelo brand continues to innovate by staying true to its heritage and embracing the traditions that matter most to the community.”

Modelo was born in 1925 in Tacuba, Mexico, and today the Casa Modelo family is brewed exclusively in Mexico and imported for the U.S. by Constellation Brands.

Modelo Especial is currently the #1 beer in the U.S. by dollar sales, a sign of how deeply the brand resonates with Hispanic consumers and beyond. The Noche Especial release will be available nationwide in 12-oz six-pack bottles while supplies last.

Holiday beers are a tradition across the industry, and this season brings several notable options. Samuel Adams Winter Lager leans into classic spices: cinnamon, ginger, and orange peel for a warming, citrus-kissed profile. Meanwhile, Great Lakes’ Christmas Ale is a festive ale brewed with honey, fresh ginger, and cinnamon. And for hop lovers, Sierra Nevada’s Celebration Fresh Hop IPA arrives each holiday with bright citrus and pine from freshly picked hops. Whether you call it Noche Buena or simply Christmas Eve, Modelo Noche Especial is a toast to comunidad, sabor, and the spirit of the season.
