Have you ever had the urge to spread frijoles and chorizo across the face of your favorite musician? No? So, it’s just us then, huh? Anyway, a tortilleria in Mexico uses its high-tech tortilla press to churn out dozens of corn tortillas featuring some of your favorites from pop culture, including members of the iconic group BTS.
The tortilleria is called La Mexicana, and according to TikTok user Marbeto Alves, the restaurant can’t keep them on their shelves. In only two hours, La Mexicana was able to sell nearly 70 lbs. of BTS tortillas. That’s a lot of quesadillas!
Along with BTS, La Mexicana also uses its press to design other customized tortillas. Some of the images from pop culture that they have etched onto them include Hello Kitty, Harry Potter, and Marvel superheroes like Spider-man and Iron Man. They also created a tortilla with eyes and a mouth that looks very concerned. The words, “No por favor, no me comas,” are printed on it.
In the past, BTS has tried to speak a little Spanish during interviews. Here’s a video of Jimin saying the word “tortilla.”
Earlier this year, the South China Morning Post released a list that put Mexico in sixth position for countries that tweet about BTS the most. Now, Mexicans can tweet about BTS tortillas, too.
