2023 was a standout year for Latines in fashion, with several stars breaking boundaries and making history, all the while showing up in impeccable style. Award ceremonies, record-breaking tours, and fashion shows are just a few arenas where Latine Fashion excellence shined this year. 

As the year wraps up, we’re shining a light on the Latines that have landed on our style and design radar throughout the year, and have quite frankly, never left our minds. The Latines featured in our 2023 best-dressed list have embraced their unique styles, some even bringing us along for their style transformation.

Vinicius Jr.’s Velvet Suit

Brazilian fútbol star Vinicius Jr. showed up at the 67th Annual Ballon d’Or in a coral Dolce & Gabbana suit that stood out amongst a sea of standard black and white suits. Following a year of racist and hate-fueled abuse wielded at the athlete, Vinícius’s bright ensemble declared his unrelenting spirit.

Pedro Pascal’s legs at the 2023 Met Gala

Pedro Pascal’s Met Gala look was a testament to The Last of Us star’s endearing and enduring likeability. The red Valentino coat paired with above-the-knee shorts and combat boots fiercely declare style, comfort, and that Pascal isn’t afraid to show a little leg.

Michaela Jaé Rodriguez’s Blue Balmain Gown

Michaela Jaé Rodríguez wore a navy blue gown 80th Annual Golden Globes Award that featured an exaggerated bow front that elegantly cascades into a perfectly collected ribbon. The Pose star’s old Hollywood glam was emphasized by the soft waves and subtly commanding Pomellato jewelry.

Miss El Salvador’s Volcanic Empowerment Costume

When Miss El Salvador, Isabella García-Manzo, walked out at the annual Miss Universe Costume Show, the crowd was relentless in their cheering for the volcanic goddess-like ensemble. The dress was designed by Marina Toybina, and “symbolizes the rebirth of El Salvador. Its brilliance reflects Salvadoran optimism, illuminating the path to a promising future.”

Harvey Guillen’s Jacquard Masterpiece

One of Harvey Guillén’s first red carpet looks was at the 2023 Oscars Ceremony. Designed by Christian Siriano, the suit was the designer’s first plus-size design and included a metallic jacquard design, wide pants, and a blazer that flared out into a flowing train.

The Warning’s Triple Threat Latex

The Mexican Rock trio The Warning turned all heads with their coordinated black latex. Paulina posed in a corset top and mini skirt by Miao. Dany was wearing a floor-length Atsuko Kudo couture dress. And Alejandra wore a midi-length bullet skirt from Busted Brand and a structural half-shoulder body piece from AMPLITUDA.

Christian Chavez’ Pink Charro-Inspired Outfit

Throughout the history-making “Soy Rebelde” tour, RBD group member, Christian Chávez, has dazzled on stage with his eclectic array of stage fits. Of the most iconic, is the hot pink charro-inspired outfit and the matching sombrero. The outfit stirred controversy, but Chavez himself said that the fit was “an expression of my Mexicanness.”

Cardi B’s Transformation at the 2023 Grammy Awards

At the 2023 Grammy Awards Ceremony, Cardi B originally arrived in a royal blue Gaurav Gupta gown with architectural elements that framed her face in a show-stopping statement.

But her transformation into a silver-metal Paco Rabanne gown and a matching chainmail headpiece was the true champion of the night.

Bad Bunny’s Met Gala Look

Bad Bunny wore a tailored suit with a backless blazer by Jacquemus and a cape that trailed 26 feet of rosettes — declaring his unmistakable presence on the white carpet. The Monaco star completed the look with an atypical slicked-back hairstyle and pearl earrings that framed the chic look.

Karol G has had her fair share of hair transformations — from her iconic blue-green locks to a fiery red. And in 2023 she transformed once more and entered her soft pink era, which is fitting considering that this year was the year of Barbie.
