After Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark won last year, the world is ready to see who will be crowned during Miss Universe 2025.
Like every year since 1952, the 74th edition of the competition aims to be a “remarkable showcase celebrating global diversity, beauty, and women’s empowerment,” per their official website.
This year, the celebration heads from 2024’s Mexico City to Thailand. The President of the Miss Universe Organization, Raúl Rocha Cantú describes the event’s location as “a celebration of everything Miss Universe represents: beauty with purpose, leadership, and positive impact in the world.”
The pageant is expected to have diverse representatives from 130 countries, including Cuba, which returned after a 57-year absence in 2024. Cuba will be represented by Univision’s El Gordo y la Flaca’s co-host,Lili Estefan’s daughter, Lina Luaces — but not everyone is happy with that selection.
Moreover, this year Miss Universe will represent Palestine for the first time, thanks to Dubai’s Nadeen Ayoub. This is also the first year that Miss Universe has a U.S. Latine representative under Miss Universe Latina, which Dominican-American Yamilex Hernández won via Miss Universe Latina, El Reality last month.
Though there will be ongoing changes and controversies, what remains the same is the beauty queens’ aim to take the crown home and represent their country. Will the crown stay in Europe? Will it travel back to Latin America after a year? We’ll have to wait and see.
For now, let’s take a look at the contestants from Latin America!
Note: List will be updated as more queens are crowned.
