Our Favorite JLo Met Gala Looks Throughout the Years
Art by Stephany Torres for Remezcla
JLo has come a long way from her roots as an actress and performer. She now adds Met Gala co-chair to her resume — a pretty big deal, considering few Latine actors, designers, or socialites have had the opportunity in the past.
As a regular attendee, JLo knows all about making a fashionable appearance — making it to “best-dressed lists” and into our mental glossary of looks to never forget and someday recreate. (Remember the Versace gown that inspired the launch of Google Images?) With 13 Gala appearances under her stilettos, here are our favorite Jennifer Lopez Met Gala looks throughout the years.
In Versace for the u0026quot;CHINA: Through the Looking Glassu0026quot; Theme (2015)
The Versace dragon dress gave “phoenix rising” energy, with a dragon placed around JLo’s torso and anchored by a red trumpet skirt. Inspiration for the look was aptly drawn from the theme with a JLo twist — sheer, body contouring cutouts and a slick back hairstyle.

In Dolce u0026amp; Gabbana for u0026quot;Dangerous Liaisons: Fashion and Furniture in the 18th Century” Theme (2004)
JLo’s Dolce and Gabbana number featured an array of details; from the intricate lace bodice to the black rose detailing. The look was topped with a braided bun and a siren-hued lip that matched the historic theme.

In Michael Kors for u0026quot;Punk: Chaos to Couture” Theme (2013)
JLo pulled a punk wild card with a leopard sequined dress by Michael Kors. The body-hugging gown was accentuated by a coiffed pixie cut — a length not often rocked by JLo but executed so well that we’re seriously waiting for a comeback.
In Versace for u0026quot;Camp: Notes on Fashionu0026quot; Theme (2019)
Diamonds (or Swarovski crystals) are clearly JLo’s best friend. JLo pumped up the glam in a fully crystallized Versace look that included a headpiece with crystal tendrils and a halter dress with a backside peekaboo belt.
In Ralph Lauren for u0026quot;Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beautyu0026quot; Theme (2023)
Arguably one of JLo’s most famous Gala looks is her 2023 Ralph Lauren gown. The leather beret with the structural fishtail fabric, velvet gloves paired with a massive diamond ring, and the length of the dress train made JLo the honorary main character.

In Balmain for u0026quot;Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and Catholic Imaginationu0026quot; Theme (2018)
In 2018, JLo wore a multi-jeweled Balmain dress with a cutout cross just above the ostrich feather skirt. In an interview with Vogue, JLo shared that the inspiration behind the dress was Anna Wintour’s famous 1988 Vogue cover.
In Ralph Lauren for u0026quot;In America: A Lexicon in Fashionu0026quot; Theme (2021)
This Latina is not afraid to subvert American Fashion. JLo went full western bandit in a Ralph Lauren look accessorized by a feathered bolero, a wide-brimmed hat, and a leather waist belt against the chocolate-colored dress.
In Gucci for u0026quot;Alexander McQueen: Savage Beautyu0026quot; Theme (2011)
In 2011, JLo arrived in a fuschia Gucci dress styled with dozens of flowers laid across her shoulders. This flower power dress walked so her 2024 Golden Globe Awards dress could run.
