ROBI’s career summer is turning into a career year, with momentum showing no signs of slowing down. After releasing his debut album sorry si soy GRRRIS in June, he’s remained on a hot streak—most recently performing at Premios Juventud 2026 in Marbella. Fittingly, this week brings “De Sueño en Sueño,” a new collaboration with Spanish phenom Arón Piper. As the two pop stars make their way around Madrid, they commiserate over the one who got away but still lingers in their dreams. Chile is experiencing a robust rock golden age, with excellent releases this year from Nando García, Inundaremos, and Cámara Chilena de la Destrucción. Now it’s Asia Menor‘s turn. They return with the blistering Vaho, the follow-up to their acclaimed 2023 debut, Enola Gay. Oscillating between abstract storytelling and raw emotion, the Temuco art-rock ensemble puts the ominousness of our dystopian present into words and chords. On “Seis Lagunas,” singer Jorge Scheuermann traces his discomfort through memories of fading phone numbers and beloved faces. Still, he refuses to give in to fatalism, wailing, “No creo en la nostalgia/ni en un futuro peor,” and embracing the eternal youth found in living joyfully in the present. — Richard Villegas

Only a year after sharing their four-track EP Indra, beloved Mexican quintet Austin TV just dropped MA, their latest full-length. Written during a period of mourning, the album processes loss while finding comfort in togetherness. Fourth on the tracklist, “Oh, Moon!” moves through ever-changing dynamics that ultimately resolve into hope. “Aparece, desaparece,” says guest vocalist Suri Guzmán, as if speaking of a memory—or life itself—while soaring guitar riffs and thunderous drums build toward synth arpeggios, creating an ecstatic atmosphere clouded by melancholy. – Cheky

Catalan avant-gardist Marina Herlop has bridged the gap between classically tinged music and electronic processes, and “Jaque” is a perfect meeting point between both worlds. Piano and strings keep it grounded while launching her vocals into kinetic, glitchy-yet-organic abandon. At the center is Herlop’s multitracked voice, which floats with an airy but powerful presence and conveys an abstract emotional quality few can achieve. “De Raça,” the latest single from Brazilian duo PRESSÃO!, sounds like a transmission from a Brazil that has always known how to turn pressure into some of the sickest beats. FX O Gênio and Ramaciote tap into the restless energy of early-2000s Brazilian street music, where funk, house, and drum’ n’ bass blurred the lines between the club, the baile, and the neighborhood. But this isn’t nostalgia for nostalgia’s sake. The duo gives those influences a fresh pulse, grounding them in brutally candid verses about identity, survival, and the realities of peripheral life—while still finding time, in a surprisingly short track, to convey what the romantic parts of this life can feel like. There’s no romanticizing the struggle here, though—just the pride and relentless drive of people running against statistics that were never written in their favor. “De Raça” is music with its feet firmly on the ground and its eyes on the future, turning lived experience into noise that makes a lot of sense once you finally stop and truly listen. — Júlia Henn

Two of Puerto Rico’s finest sharpshooting indie rap acts, FOKINFROID and LAPERRERA (all-caps are mandatory), team up for the first time this week on “performativo.” Taking inspiration from Buffalo outfit Griselda, the duo collaborate with NY-based Ecuadorian producer MELLOWAVES on a biting track aimed at the scene’s performative bros and chads. To FOKINFROID and LAPERRERA, all that faux aura amounts to stolen valor, and they cut the fakers off at the knee with sharp rhymes and laid-back hip-hop stylings. Wit and reflexes come easy—something their targets wouldn’t know anything about. – Juan J. Arroyo
