It’s time for our beloved Aquarius favorites to shine! Often described as easygoing, independent, and humanitarian, we’re continuing our monthly listicle with the first Air sign of the year — Aquarius, which runs from Jan. 20 to Feb. 18. Yes, despite them having “aqua” in their name, they’re not to be mistaken for a water sign. Aquarius is part of the Air collective with Gemini and Libra. But we’ll get to them later in the year.

If you’re thinking: who’s an Aquarius in the Latine music space? Turns out there are many. Some of the most popular superstars today are Aquarius, even. We’re talking about Colombian superstar Maluma and Puerto Rican reggaeton icon Daddy Yankee. Though the stars were born and raised in different countries and cultures, they have many similarities based on their zodiac sign’s traits. For one, they’re both humanitarians helping communities with their respective projects. Maluma runs his arts and training program “El Arte de los Sueños,” while DY has helped many causes throughout his music career, such as Habitat for Humanity and Save the Children.

And it’s not only these two stars that radiate their zodiac’s common traits. The aforementioned characteristics often represent many of the other giving Aquariuses we’re highlighting today, such as the Colombian superstar Karol G, Puerto Rican legend Don Omar, and Palestinian-Chilean singer Elyanna. Throughout the years, each artist has shown us how they give back to their communities, an important aspect of being an Aquarius.

What else do we love about this particular zodiac sign? The bangers they come up with. From Karol G’s famous collaboration “+57” to Estevie’s most recent track “Hombre Malvado,” here are seven songs to celebrate our favorite Aquariuses on their birthday month.

And for any Aquarius reading this: Happy birthday!

Karol G, Feid, DFZM featuring Ovy On The Drums, J Balvin, Maluma, Ryan Castro, Blessd - “+57”

Born on Feb. 14, 1991, Karol G is one of the most popular Aquariuses in Latine mainstream radio. With her latest collaboration (and somewhat controversial) “+57,” the star proved once again that she’s one of the only artists able to make magic in the studio with megastars and emerging minds alike. Besides being a certified hitmaker, she also gives back to her community. On Jan. 16, her merchandise team revealed that she would donate 100 percent of her earnings from special merch to support the relief of the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, CA. What else is up with Karol? She’s to release a documentary about her life via Netflix this year — and we can’t wait to see it!

Netón Vega - “Loco”

Vega started off as a collaborator for Peso Pluma and Tito Double P, but now he’s a rising star in his own right. The Aquarius singer — whose birthday starts off the season on Jan. 20 — has garnered attention due to his viral reggaeton single “Loco.” Though primarily known for his música mexicana collaborations, “Loco” proves his talent transcends genres. “Although my roots are in corridos, I have always had a great admiration for reggaeton, its energy, and the connection it creates,” Vega recently told Remezcla about the hit. “I wanted to experiment and show that I can tell stories with a different rhythm without losing my essence. ‘Loco’ is proof that music has no limits and that an artist can move between genres.” Will we hear more reggaeton from him in 2025? We’ll have to wait to listen to his debut album, out on Feb. 14.

Shakira - “Soltera”

The Colombian superstar is among the few artists with several hits across multiple decades. That’s what makes her upcoming Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour so tempting to attend in person. Needless to say, she has a fruitful repertoire to choose from, but let’s talk about her most recent album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. Her newest single “Soltera” oozes Afrobeats inspiration charged with female empowerment lyrics. But that’s not all; based on the number of popstar cameos featured in the official music video and overall support, it appears that the zodiac sign’s “easygoing” trait checks out with the pop icon.

Don Omar, Wisin, Yandel - “SANDUNGA”

Born on February 10, 1978, Don Omar is a reggaeton icon to celebrate this season. Besides this reggaeton romp “SANDUNGA,” he’s also known for a wide range of hits like “Danza Kuduro,” “Salió El Sol,” and “Dile,” and that’s just scratching the surface. However, this collaboration was special due to its collaborators. “Collaborating on this track with Wisin y Yandel and Luny Tunes has been a wish of mine for a long time,” Don Omar said in a press statement. “Not only did we revisit our musical origins, but the outcome speaks for itself. Given our shared history, the creative synergy was seamless.”

Ela Minus - “UPWARDS”

Colombian singer and producer Ela Minus is another Aquarius to celebrate this month. The experimental and electronic music maker will celebrate another year around the sun on Feb. 11. But that’s not the only thing she’s celebrating. She also released her newest album DÍA on Jan. 17, which includes the hypnotic synth-heavy track “UPWARDS.” With mesmerizing lyrics like, “I’d love to save you / but you’ve got to save yourself,” she creates an anthem for those who need to put themselves first (an Aquarius trait is “independent,” after all…). Another track on her new album is “QQQQ,” which captures her apocalyptic feelings on top of a catchy dance track.

Elyanna - “Yabn El Eh”

Celebrating her birthday on Jan. 22, the Palestinean-Chilean singer Elyanna is known for embracing her Latine and Arabic roots. With “Yabn El Eh,” she continues doing so by featuring her signature vocals on enthralling drums and acoustic strings. But her music goes beyond catchy tunes — she’s made history with them. In 2023, she became the first artist to sing a full performance in Arabic at Coachella. And the interest in seeing the singer live didn’t stop there. In 2024, she embarked on her global WOLEDTO Tour after selling out her first U.S. tour at the beginning of the year. Up next, she’s coming back stateside to play selected U.S. cities, this time as Coldplay’s supporting act. How’s that for staying booked and busy?

Estevie - “Hombre Malvado”

Estevie — whose real name is Sara Silva — is one of the younger Aquarius in the music game. Born on Feb. 4, 2003, the Gen Z cumbia star is making waves in the historically dominated música mexicana space. Inspired by chingonas like banda icon Jenni Rivera and norteño singer Alicia Villareal, the Beamont-born star intertwines cumbia norteñas, cumbias sonideras, and pop with her sentimental tinge. To date, she’s collaborated with talented artists like Christian Nodal on “Un Besito Más,” DannyLux on “Triste Verano,” and ERRE on “Cuéntame.” This year, she’s scheduled to drop more music. Hopefully, we will hear more collaborations with women! Imagine a joint track with Villareal? It would be epic.
