“This song represents me because it comes from the streets and the reality I had to live through. Everything I learned growing up is pure heart and truth.”

Following his album LA ODISEA, Jasiel Nuñez is back with a new project called Lo Aprendí En La Lleca, out now (Oct. 2). The seven-track album features the focus single “La Lleca” alongside long-time collaborator Peso Pluma. Remezcla spoke with the Mexican singer-songwriter about his newest collaboration, what he hopes his fans get out of his latest album, and his favorite tracks that he calls “resilient,” “ambitious,” and overall “hustle-driven.”
Nuñez’s work is often linked to La Doble P. That’s because the duo is known to create hits like “LAGUNAS” and “BIPOLAR.” Now, the dynamic pair is back with “La Lleca,” where they take a different lyrical direction inspired by what Nuñez learned “in the streets.” “In ‘La Lleca,’ we wanted to go beyond just making a song for dancing or parties,” Nuñez says about the new track. “This song has a deeper message; it’s a true story that reflects who we are and where we come from, what we’ve been through, the struggles and triumphs that have come with a lot of discipline and sacrifice.”
The new track features the duo’s signature hard-hitting música mexicana elements, such as their beloved guitar and bass strings, paired with their distinctive croons as they sing about their resilient upbringing. “It’s not just a party song, but a song that shows the path we’ve traveled, the struggle and pride of where we come from, and that makes it different,” he adds. Though the two artists frequently collaborate, Nuñez says he’s always learning from Peso Pluma, specifically because of his discipline and how he is “always looking to raise the bar.”
Beyond his new single with La Doble P, Lo Aprendí En La Lleca also features Chino Pacas and Calle 24. Though the collaborations seem to be nothing out of the ordinary, Nuñez hopes that his listeners see a different, deeper side of his life. “This album is not just about music, but also about learning from difficult moments, setbacks, and growth. Everything one learns in life,” he says.
To continue celebrating Lo Aprendí En La Lleca, Nuñez curated an exclusive mood playlist that features the album’s focus single. The mood chosen? “Resilient” and “ambitious.” From his new joint track with Peso Pluma to 2Pac’s “Do For Love,” here are eight hand-selected songs, with an explainer by the Mexican singer-songwriter.
“This song represents me because it comes from the streets and the reality I had to live through. Everything I learned growing up is pure heart and truth.”
“The idea of being reborn and continuing to grow resonates with me, as it’s something I’ve done in my career and personal life.”
“I like how it mixes success with melancholy. Sometimes, even if you achieve a lot, there are still feelings that weigh you down.”
“I listen to it because it reminds me that faith and calmness are key to moving forward without losing my way.”
“It inspires me because it connects classic hip-hop with what’s new, something I also try to reflect in my music.”
“It’s a song that transmits joy and flow to me. I like the positive energy it projects. It’s by an artist who is extremely successful, especially in pop, and it inspires me to continue exploring new genres.”
“It’s a very personal song. It talks about the sacrifices and lessons that have shaped me as an artist and a person. It’s a song that, when I’m in the studio trying out other instruments, gives me the freedom to continue in my genre while expanding with new sounds.”
“[It’s] a classic that resonates with me because it talks about what one is willing to do for love and for what you feel.”
