Fania continues to reinvent itself – the legendary New York label has adopted a fresh image while keeping the spirit of its history alive. Starting with the birth of ARMADA FANIA, a vehicle for young producers to reinterpret the sounds of the imprint’s back catalog and bring those works to life at events, the Fania brand is more alive than ever, and it’s taking over NYC for a special event this month.

On November 10, ARMADA FANIA is relaunching at Queens’ Knockdown Center as a pop-up club and store. Co-presented by the Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival, Kenny Dope, one half of the renowned duo Masters at Work, will headline the six-hour event. He’ll perform alongside Uproot Andy from tropical bass crew Que Bajo?!, sisters Nina Sky, L.A.’s José Marquez, and boogaloo connoisseur DJ Turmix. Plus, visual artist Carlos Rolón/Dzine will present a special piece inspired by Fania’s history, and there will also be exclusive merchandise, like apparel and vinyl, for purchase. Our wallets aren’t thanking us right now.

The West Coast is getting some love too, as the next installment of ARMADA FANIA is set to take place Los Angeles’ Los Globos on December 10. More U.S. and international cities are on the horizon for 2017.

The Armada Fania Club & Pop Up Store will take place on November 10, 2016 at Queens’ Knockdown Center. Check out the flyer and enter to win a pair of tickets below. For more information, click here
